Antony Blinken to visit India on July 27, Human rights and Pegasus spy case on agenda

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is coming on a two-day visit to India on July 27. He will meet Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar. In this meeting, Blinken will raise matters of human rights and Pegasus espionage in India. The issue of the consequences of withdrawing US forces from Afghanistan and the need to maintain pressure on Pakistan in the matter of terror funding will also be a matter of discussion.

Dean Thompson said on Friday that I can say with certainty that we will definitely take up these matters. And we will continue this discussion. The US is particularly concerned about the government’s role in the Pegasus espionage case.

Blinken’s first visit to India

This will be Blinken’s first visit to India after becoming the US Secretary of State. This will be the second visit by a high official of the Biden administration after coming to power in July. This visit of Blinken will further strengthen mutual cooperation between the two countries in many areas such as trade, investment, healthcare, education, digital domain, innovation and security.

There will be talk on the Quad Initiative,

both the ministers will also discuss the Quad Initiative related to the manufacture of Corona Vaccine. There can also be talk of organizing a meeting of foreign ministers of the countries included in the Quad by the end of this year. India and US will take this initiative forward so that the vaccine made in India can be supplied to the Indo-Pacific region from the beginning of next year.

What is Quad Vaccine Initiative

India has decided to make corona vaccine with the US, Australia and Japan. This initiative has been named Quad. Under this, the vaccine will be developed in America, manufactured in India, Japan and America will invest in it and Australia will provide logistics support in it.
