Everglades: Expeditions for photographers

Atlanta (global-adventures.us): Tours and expeditions for photographers are the focal point of a new website, www.imagine-your-world.com. The Everglades National Park and the Apalachicola National Forest offer close wildlife encounters and breathtaking views of some of the largest protected ecosystems in the U.S. Guided tours give professional photographers and photo enthusiasts a chance to get close to more than 350 species of birds, 40 species of mammals, and 50 species of reptiles in the Everglades or explore a spectacular display of sinkholes and unusual karst features in northern Florida’s Woodville Karst Plain.

"We are working with several manufacturers to offer demo-gear on some of our tours and expeditions," says owner Bernd F. Laeschke. "We like to give photographers a chance to try the latest equipment during the day and get an in-depth view of cutting-edge technology during evening workshops." IYWTo add to the experience, nature tours often include camping on remote and sometimes primitive sites, prolonged hikes through the forests, canoe-trips, BBQ’s, and discussions around campfires.

Outings to Savannah, Hilton Head, and Charleston focus on historic sites, architecture, and life in the city. Photographers have a chance to explore the USS Yorktown State Park and old plantations. Boat tours through swamps and short nature walks provide a unique inside into the local flora and fauna. Half day trips to Atlanta’s Stone Mountain and the downtown area offer brief snapshots of Georgia’s capital that was known as "Standing Peachtree" by the Cherokee and Creek Indians.

A guided tour to Yellowstone National Park is planned during the summer months, and for 2012, Imagine Your World (IYW) wants to expand its offerings to Central America and Western Europe. "We already gained a lot of experience organizing tours and expeditions for cyclists and scuba divers in Europe, Mexico, and the Caribbean," says Laeschke. "Many beautiful places offer a unique experience and some a chance to literally walk in the footsteps of Ansel Easton Adams, one of the great American photographers."
